Chinese tourists biggest spenders in Thailand during New Year holiday

Spending by Chinese tourists during the Chinese New Year holiday was the highest in Thailand according to Alipay, a leading digital payment platform offered by Ant Financial, an affiliate of Alibaba Group.

A security guard and a mall executive have apologised to a wheelchair-bound woman whose motorcycle and sidecar were removed from a mall parking space for the physically disabled, to make way for a sports car and its able-bodied driver.

THE RULING National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) yesterday denied that a lawsuit being brought against Future Forward Party leader Thanathorn Jungroongruangkit was another case of discrimination, as it reacted to widespread criticism of anti-junta parties being targeted ahead of the election next month.

Airports concessions shake-up sought

1.2m workers to be trained for e-commerce roles

NEW cybersecurity and data protection bills are being pushed through with little oversight because of sweeping state powers, warn rights defenders and privacy experts. A core concern is the provision that would allow seizure of computers and servers without a court order. Critics say the bills would give the military regime sweeping powers to monitor and censor political traffic online via the National Cybersecurity Agency.

Monkees Singer and Bassist Peter Tork Dies at 77
