trying to take his bag is odd. blocking the door to exit more appropriate. trying to seize/steal his property is agression

Where does it indicate / suggest they are trying to STEAL his property?

true, inability to reason things out including consequences.

a thai patron at a big pub pulled a pistol and aimed it at a well known guitar player because the guitar play didnt shake his hand (while he was playing)

Sounds like Friday night in Chicago.

Yep there's a lot of inaccuracy in TV reads and a lot of assumption, ain't going to change.

I'd be more worried about staying in a hostel that lets unregistered people walk in to rooms off the street at 4am in the morning. Don't they have security at the front desk in the night? Can anyone just walk in to the shared rooms.

Back in the 80's I stayed in the Windel Ditric Strasa Youth Hostel in Munich, and well, after 9 pm some times, the street people used to sneak in, and get past the desk some how, and just walk through the hostel, until they found an empty bed, ...  and climb in to it !!! Hoping that it was an unused one, ..but well, they were not very chose, so often, you would come home after a few Goot Beers, and walk in to your room, and find some one sleeping in your bed !!! .... Quite a Nuance Right. ..... But is didn't happen much, ...  and well, Location has a lot to do with it, like Hostels in High pressure, ... High Trash Areas (Often the most Interesting areas to be staying in) have to have VERY Stringent Security, and well, GOOD, as they are cheap, and good to stay in with often Great Locations !!!

... I guess that the story of the Cambodian Hostel in Sanook Ville, where the dorm did not have a light after 11 .... and often the dogs there, would get in to your bed !!! ... Hence quietly walking in, at 1, and a bit under the weather ... .... And then flopping down on to you bed ...  And then Grrrrrrr, !!! Snarl Snarl !!!  Snap Snap  .... Landing on quite a large. street Dog, was also a pretty Frightening experience actually .... No Americans would brave that place though, I do not think. ...

in that case it would be a security issue and the hotel staff simply should refuse her entry

Maybe she should have refused him entry until he got a single room ?

Dude is a real class act. He probably wanted to do the deed in the toilet but his paramour insisted that his dorm would be more 'romantic'.

Just smile, pay 6USD and get the hell out of there. What's the big deal? He is lucky to be born in America and managed to make a few dollars to come all the way to Thailand. He did not achieve anything by his own. His claimed privilege is based on place that made his earn a few dollars a this young age. In other countries people would be working hard to support families.

Hardly been "lucky" , staying in a 200 Baht a night dormitory , many Thais wouldnt stay in such places

Obviously both parties are wrong, but he should have just paid the 200 baht, was not worth the trouble.

This sad sack of shit is in for a world of trouble now. He will be lucky if he gets away with a week in jail and a huge fine. Anyone know what happened to the girl?

she left him with a round of applause.....

Seems sissy slaps are considered "punches" now?

My God, lilly fresh backpacker needs X3 people to subdue him?

Hopefully he was better between the gnat infested sheets than he was in the lobby.

As for the girl...she left unsatisfied and shamed,  same as last weekend.
