rooster59
Former Chiang Mai trader saw more money in gambling - he's nabbed Image: Sanook A former trader in mobile phones and games saw more money in gambling after meeting a friend who was running a betting website. Nukit, 29, went into business as an agent getting customers for gambling on football and baccarat and other games by offering a "200 baht" sign up promotional free bet. The cops were soon on his case and raided his house in San Sai district yesterday. There they found computers, a server and account books with damning information of 1,000 transactions totally 100,000 baht on average per day. Payments were made via mobile banking after groups on Line and Facebook chat were used. Dinobot
Kind of takes the air out of this heinous crime ring when the photo of the crime scene is a bunch of Nintendo gameboys.
JimmyJ
A coinflipper betting on football at -110/1.91 odds, betting $1, gets back 97.73 cents on average. The Thai lottery pays back 60%. I.e., someone betting $1 gets back 60 cents on average. There is no bigger ripoff than this. That's why government lotteries are sometimes referred to as "a tax on the poor", as it's often poor people who bet these to buy a dream. If the Thai government is anti-gambling, start by banning their own lottery.

Burma Bill
Consider legalizing gambling in Thailand and introduce a gambling tax. Not only would it swell the Government's coffers but would eliminate the various illegal "mafia" gambling syndicates.
