islandguy
Looked at wiki post, didn’t seem relevant to shrimp, or at least salt water shrimp. Did I miss something?
drtreelove
You may get more feedback by posting this on the Food or especially Health forum. If you think you or loved one have contacted a parasite or disease organism, seek medical help right away. Sheryll on the Health forum will help direct you to a specialist in your geographical area. If it's general information you want and don't get the specific answer to your question, the safest personal health policy I believe is don't eat raw or undercooked seafood or other meats, wash clean all food, utensils, cutting boards and countertops. Pilotman
I have never understood this need to eat stuff raw, especially in this part of the world and especially anything from the water. There are just so many flukes, worms, viruses and other parasites that it seems pure madness to me to take the risk. In Japan, where health and safety standards are higher, maybe, but not here and certainly not for me.
