somchaismith
I'll be going to Lipe and partaking in a bit of snorkeling. Beforehand, I plan to buy a mask and snorkel set off of Lazada. I'm not looking for anything fancy but I don't want a set which leaks or falls apart. Any suggestions?
robblok
Yes, dont buy on lazada. A mask is something you have to try on before buying. You can buy masks at lipe too. You will pay a bit more (even more if you buy it at a diving shop) but you get good quality. You can get good quality on lazada too but you just don't know if it fits your face well. Just my 2 cents. Basil B
I see no deference in a mask for diving or snorkeling other than for diving they must be reliable so any mask sold at a reputable dive shop rather than a toy shop or street vendor should meet your needs. Ahab
You need to try on the mask that you buy. Every persons face is different and even a quality mask that fits one perfect will leak and be no good for another. When trying on the mask close your mouth and press the mask on your face, if it sticks (holds suction) it is a good fit if it does not stick try another one. cornishcarlos
It's worth paying a bit more for a quality and well fitting mask. You're snorkeling experience will be a disaster with a cheap or ill fitting one. As above, go to a shop and try a few different brands and models to see which suits your face shape. somchaismith
Thanks everyone for the input. I'll track down sports' shops in Bangkok and see what's available. It's quite sad that Lazada has a lot of snorkeling masks for sale as I wonder who's going to purchase them.

People who have no clue that masks are highly individual will purchase them.
