Vietnamese police arrested a Thai man who was posing as Kim Jong Un in Hanoi as the North Korean leader was meeting US president Donald Trump.

Uthen Leuangsaengthong, 41, is known as "Kim Thailand". He is a marketing executive who made 100 million baht by the age of 40.

He had planned a three day trip to Vietnam from 25th to 27th February to coincide with the summit.

Sanook reported that after he visited a famous Hanoi lake he went to the area of the summit where a large number of Vietnamese residents and tourists wanted selfies.

This attracted the attention of the Vietnamese police who took him into custody as he tried to get back to his hotel in a taxi.

He was interrogated for two hours in which it was discovered that he posed no security threat.

However, he was still kept in the custody of the authorities (along with an Egyptian man) and escorted to the airport before being put on his scheduled flight back to Bangkok yesterday afternoon.

"Kim Thailand" was in a news a couple of weeks ago after complaining that his newly purchased 2.8 million baht Harley Davidson motorcycle was constantly breaking down.

He's actually a very funny and nice guy in person.  I was cast in a TV commercial with him 2 years ago for a snack company; he was "Kim" and I, "Trump".  The commercial was set in what looked like a summit conference room.

After a bunch of mutual table thumping, we bonded over corn chips.  It was a fun shoot and we had a good time.  He's a bright guy and does indeed, look like Kim even without make-up.

Sadly, the Thai ministry of whatever deemed it offensive and AFAIK, it never aired.

Rookie. The real Kim had played 11 consecutive holes-in-one by the time he was 30, reputedly had amassed the largest collection of fine cognacs in the world, had several 100 million DOLLARS in personal assets and had an entire nation cowering at his feet.

BTW: I look like Groucho Marx. Will that get me arrested, too?

Probably needs to check the fuel gauge more often than the old "Wave"

That's sad that you resemble Donald Trump.  I only want to resemble his bank account.

I don't, actually.  It always astounds me what they can do with make-up and wigs.  The government overseer actually demanded that I look less like Trump, for instance they insisted I not wear a Trump style blond wig.

I suspect the video didn't make it through post-production.  My agent tried and couldn't get a clip.  I never knew the name of the Thai snack company so it would have been tough to find on YouTube.
