We had a well dug on our small bit of farmland, they found water at 13 metre, OK I thought not that deep then, so they installed sealed concrete rings to the surface. It was pumping clear water very good for couple of years then it got cloudy with clay, got worse and eventually the pump clogged up. After measurements the clay is 3.1/2 metre deep from original bottom. Has anyone have suggestions as how to go about bringing the well back to life and proper use. Our well was dug out manually it's 1.&1/2 m circular wide. Guess drilling further down to get water from hitting rock would better and the answer. The clay in the way will be the problem I think. bankruatsteve Posted March 3, 2019 Share Posted March 3, 2019 We have had similar problems (clay "dust") with our bore hole and my feeling is that it is related to especially active rainy season. David B in Thailand Posted April 15, 2019 Share Posted April 15, 2019 If the OP has a deeper 4 inch or 6 inch well drilled he might consider a submersible well pump. Plenty of choices in Thailand for a/c well pumps including Grundfos, Mitsubishi, Franklin Electric, Mercury, Hitachi. No shortage of companies selling D/C brushless submersible well pumps. What has proven successful in the long term for me in Buriram is the right firm to install the well pumps I have on a couple of parcels of my wife's land. In any province in Thailand the after the sales service, real warranty support and who the heck does the installation does matter. I understand why some water pumps have 30/30 warranties. 30 seconds or 30 meters after you depart the store as they are junk made up brand pumps. Any legitimate Isaan water pump installer will be able to provide local expat references of satisfied customers if you take the time to meet face to face with the installer in my observation. Same deal in seeing existing solar hot water system installations in person before you invest your hard earned baht.
