I doubt he would have been shot, that's a rare occurrence that gets hyped up by the anti police crowd but tasered...hell yeah. and pepper sprayed.

Love the poles. Ancient Asian policing.

Unfortunately it’s not a rare occurrence in US. Armed, unarmed and sadly quite a number of mentally disabled people get killed by police. Do your own research before posting incorrect information.

Rather than call the police in this video inept I’d say they handled the situation as best they could with the resources at hand. If the tourist is in fact suffering from mental health issues they hopefully he Recovers and gets the proper help. If just another drunk or drugged up idiot then I hope he gets the punishment he deserves when he gets out of hospital.

Three policeman being unable tor restrain someone has nothing to do with bad training. In the UK it can take 4-6 policemen to restrain a struggling man who keeps thrashing about. It always looks bad in videos and like overkill but anyone who has tried to restrain such a person who is being violent knows the reality.

Indeed. And worse if that person his high on drugs. (Drunks on alcohol are relatively easy to restrain compared to those high on other types of drug).

The other important factor is most RTP officers, and UK officers, will try very hard to restrain the person and cause them as little damage as possible. All those RTP officers had a pistol and not one drew it. Unlike in some other countries where officers would be quick to shoot or use severe damaging methods to gain control.

Really dude? How many unjustifiable homicides of mentally ill people are committed in the US each year? Two or three?

The restraining part ia not difficult if you know what you are doing. But doing so within the legal guidelines of a police officer changes everything. They have so many rules they have to follow qnd can't just go in full martial arts taje down and restraints as that would kand them in legal trouble themselves. So taking someone down with only a fraction if moves and options avaliable can make extemely hard.

Not difficult - but certainly not easy!

In a confined space, and with the person drunk, drugged, mentally ill or a combination thereof.

It ain't like Hollywood!

Well it appears you don’t like to do your own research. I’ll do it for you this time but next time you must log off TV and do your own homework sunshine ok...

The OP is not about USA police so let’s leave it here for another thread.

However if you feel like reading try the below, quite interesting reading.

And like in Aus they have Tasers to assist.

I have seen programs from the UK with several heavy police struggling to restrain someone especially when under the influence of whatever.

Keystone cops all that lot armed with metal posts?? For what. Why not charge into the toilet over power this guy job done. Instead of yapping and prodding

Perhaps you should give them your phone number so that you can help next time.

Can’t wait to see the video, armchair experts in action.

The Thai Police version of a Chinese fire drill. Very surprised that the police don't have tasers. A useful tool and a great opportunity for those making the purchase to feed at the trough.

That'll be 4-6 Juveniles, overweights and l'ill girls all with amour and utility belts (a la Bruce Wayne) then.

In my experience, instant unconsciousness renders them very restrainable

Thats your opinion , i saw people on drugs getting knocked out 4 or 5 times and still getting up . And they where knocked out by bigger guys then those small policeman .

I doubt if he was drunk but would bet money on him being under the influence of some illegal substance.  When he recuperates from his fall, I hope the police tune him up for being so stupid. ????

Better than a hard kick to the testes, or a right hook to the jaw...

Either of which would also see the doorman's license revoked and them charged with assault, it really is odd what some people are willing to accept from bouncers.
