This is yet another case which besmirches the reputations of all Westerners living in Thailand. There are just too many garbage farang living here. I hope this guy gets put in jail for along time.

Unfortunately it’s not a rare occurrence in US. Armed, unarmed and sadly quite a number of mentally disabled people get killed by police. Do your own research before posting incorrect information. 

Rather than call the police in this video inept I’d say they handled the situation as best they could with the resources at hand. If the tourist is in fact suffering from mental health issues they hopefully he Recovers and gets the proper help. If just another drunk or drugged up idiot then I hope he gets the punishment he deserves when he gets out of hospital.

Lucky for the officers involved that the hotel was well equipped for this type of incident, with a wardrobe door and coat stand. They must have a history of this kind of thing.

Indeed. And worse if that person his high on drugs. (Drunks on alcohol are relatively easy to restrain compared to those high on other types of drug). 

 

The other important factor is most RTP officers, and UK officers, will try very hard to restrain the person and cause them as little damage as possible. All those RTP officers had a pistol and not one drew it. Unlike in some other countries where officers would be quick to shoot or use severe damaging methods to gain control.

The restraining part ia not difficult if you know what you are doing. But doing so within the legal guidelines of a police officer changes everything. They have so many rules they have to follow qnd can't just go in full martial arts taje down and restraints as that would kand them in legal trouble themselves. I have seen programs from the UK with several heavy police struggling to restrain someone especially when under the influence of whatever.

Thats your opinion , i saw people on drugs getting knocked out 4 or 5 times and still getting up . And they where knocked out by bigger guys then those small policeman .
