Sunday's required task was a "gate open" indicator for the electric gates as we can no longer see them from the house due to Madam's trees growing like there's no tomorrow. The resultant "on whilst open, flash whilst moving" light met with approval, phew ???? I wonder what the next task she has lined up will be. And I am slowly coming to the conclusion that there is only one way to fix this job and it involves more of the ceiling being removed to give access .... tifino
Thinking that original damage came from somchai trying to bodgy ram a 4" pipe into a 100mm orifice?

Actually a holiday is not that bad as I have had a few of the3m over the past years. It gives you chance at resting and not having to deal with the "real" world. I only wish that someone would put Trump and May on a holiday, maybe together, what a party that would be!

I wonder if that "damaged" area was actually an attempt to get things to align properly during the initial installation cock-up. I think @KhaoYai has the same idea. It certainly is - and its something I've seen dozens of times. That may work 'Thai Stylie' - without going into too much detail, they don't use paper ????. Paper will snag on that or maybe even a large 'jobby'. As I said in an earlier post - do it right, you'll only do it once that way. The outlet pipe should align with the pan exactly. The rubber seal slides into the outlet pipe and the pan sits into the rubber seal - job done, no leaks. Of course it will take longer as you have to get the outlet pipe to move in order to align it but bodging it will almost certainly need attention again at some point - if it works at all. If you have any concerns about damaging tiles that may then be visible with no matching tiles available - don't panic. Use replacement tiles the are a complete contrast - it will look like it was meant to be that way.
JAS21
So the job is finished. My wife had a chat with a Thai Builder ... actually a Chartered Civil Engineer ... and he said DON'T even try to change the pipe as your access is so bad. So that settled it ... a sleeveing job. So I bought a meter of pipe ... marked it up and made cuts with a 4" grinder until it just fitted into the damaged pipe. I went to Cotto Studio Donmuang which is in Vibhavavadi Road and bought a 'toilet fitting kit' along with new fixtures to locate the seat and to Thai Watsadu for some Sx=100MS which is an adhesive sealant. You get two wax 'gaskets' as they call them, one for each side of the flange. So I put plenty of the adhesive sealant as I tapped the sleeve into place I then filled the space with neat white cement ... I have a 20Kg bag awaiting to be used to repair the drive ... Picture is before I cleaned the area Then located the flange ... just had to drill and plug for the screws. Again I used the adhesive sealant to fill the small gap between the flange stub and the sleeve. Not really necessary as the wax gasket seals. The toilet is quite heavy so MrsJ helped with lifting it into place ... I located the wax gasket on the flange and not as shown in the pic.. I used the Sx-100MS to seal around the bottom of the toilet ... should have used silicon but didn't want to open a new tube just for that job ... bit of an error!! as it took me a long time to make the job look okay. The stuff sticks like shit to a blanket! Job done ..... And this picture shows what an <deleted> they made of locating the outlet pipe ... and the toilet is now 1cm more to the right than it was!! Except for ... Repairing the ceiling ..............................
KhaoYai
Right, so you have moved the toilet rather than the pipe - I didn't think that was possible in your situation. Your new photos show the pipe flush with the floor and the use of the correct type of fitting kit. Hopefully it will be fine now but I'm curious - if the toilet could be moved so that it aligns with the hole, rather than the crazy 'slotting' of the concrete that they do, why was the toilet not fitted in that way in the first place? Because it would not have been central (as now)?
