Casino Royale star Eva Green has weighed into the debate on whether James Bondcould be played by a woman – and she's not for it.

There has been talk of the spy's sex being flipped in the future, with the likes of Gillian Anderson and Emilia Clarke putting themselves forward.

However, Green – who played Bond girl Vesper Lynd in Daniel Craig's first outing as 007 – reckons the spy should remain a man.

"I'm for women, but I really think James Bond should remain a man," she told Vanity Fair. "It doesn't make sense for him to be a woman.

I suggest someone should invent a female spy who pretends to be a hot gogo-girl.

She get's what she wants because the guys are lining up to rescue her from the bar life.

I am sure that would be a successful movie. And all feminists should be delighted to have a female hero. ????

So true but these days the girls are going to get up in arms (just because they can) and say, "what is wrong with women liking women".  :cheesy:

How about hiring a man and a woman to play Bond in the same movie? No explanation regarding which one is supposed to be the "real" Bond. Think of the buzz on social media! I recall Bunuel film "That Obscure Object of Desire" from 70's where two women played the lead (in same time frame, not flashback or forward)

You may enjoy the movie Atomic Blonde.

If you would like to see all there is to see (excluding via use of a speculum) of Eva Green check out the movie The Dreamers.

You're welcome.

I did think it was a good touch to have Judi Dench as M, and with a male secretary to boot.  My guess is they considered a male Moneypenny.

In the most recent remake of "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" they took a tough guy character (on the Brit side) and turned him into a bisexual who wept when his boyfriend left him, and had him played by Cumberbatch. Just one disastrous part of an overall disaster.  If you want to see it stick with the Alec Guinness version, good stuff.

Great stuff.  I have atomic blonde but at the risk of getting publicly casterated, I find all of the heroine type movies a lit light in macho ability.  The girls just don't seem to know how to play boys, with the possible exception of Victor Victoria.

Why doesn't someone write a spy thriller book with a woman as the hero and see how it works out without trying to re write something already in existence?

Maybe with a plus size feminist in the lead role. I wonder how many people would want to watch such a movie...

I would suggest Jessica Bangkok for this role.

She's lovely....   but "Jureka Del Mar"  (on the left)   is a real action girl

( speaks Thai too..thought she was an Eastern Russian )1314266370_JurekaDelMarSuzieQ.jpg.8f46793d827f642643a47dc3b875d671.jpg

Or how about a non binery Bond, could be a woman one day then a man ,also it could also, think of itself as black, that would cover all angles.

No, it would not cover "normal" people who are probably still 90% majority.
