webfact
Video: Wife saves husband from death! Reward her with a credit card, say netizens Picture: Sanook CCTV footage posted on Facebook showed a man working on installing more cameras at his home. But just after his wife called him to go indoors a snake fell through the roof bringing parts of the ceiling crashing down. Netizens - perhaps displaying a touch of Thai irony - said he was saved from certain death by his wife. The husband should give her a credit card with unlimited access to funds to show his appreciation, suggested others. Sanook reported that 1,600 left comments and 1,000 shared the footage after it appeared on the Facebook page of Narucha PinG Limsukakorn. Thaivisa notes that while unusual, Thais DO sometimes do irony! Source: Sanook -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2019-03-

Nsp64
Thais obsession with money is quite distasteful. Why give here a credit card. Why not a kiss and a big thank you. Thais and money , it all very vulgar.
Emdog
One would think saving spouse from death would fall within normal parameters of expected behaviors of marriage. Maybe things are different here

A pat on the back for making lunch at the correct time, remind her to do the dishes before removing the snake & clearing the floor! While you get over the trauma with a beer form the fridge! Can't show love or appreciation unless it involves money. No such thing as a good deed. Everything has a price if you're a thai

The suggestion of the farang giving his Thai wife a credit card is really kind of a compliment. If Thais think all farangs are rich enough to afford such it indicates that they see farangs as men of wealth. Being wealthy in this Buddhist nation is a clear and overt indicator that a person has been rewarded for some inherent goodness that puts them a cut or 2 above the "riff raff" and all Thais just know it.
