Photo: The Phuket News /file PHUKET: Airports of Thailand (AoT) management at Phuket International Airport have still yet to make any public announcement to confirm – or even clarify – the possible closure of the beach at the end of the runway due to safety concerns, despite holding a meeting to define the boundaries of the expanded safety zone last Thursday (Mar 14). The area for decades has been one of the most sought-after places for an iconic selfie taken while on holiday in Phuket. connda Posted March 19, 2019 Share Posted March 19, 2019 As at many airport around the world where the runway ends are close to major highways and roads, you can get that same perspective on highway 108 in Chiang Mai when incoming planes land on runway 18/36 flying in from south to north, just no sand beach and ocean to enjoy between landings. ????
