That would be quite accurate if it wasn't for the inconvenient fact that four people have been convicted

Correct, but who recieved the stiffest sentence, the driver - can you please explain why, when they were all there all doing the same thing, forget all the weasel words like - but different charges etc.

Typical Thai fickle conduct.

High so, as the case with most other societies, will get away with the crime.

Low life scum like myself are simply surplus to requirements. Im a number, a product. I have nothing!!!

We humans have created a crap exsistance..

Sad to think that money dominates the most powerfull creatures on this plant. Humans!

We cannot get along.

We do not deserve to occupy this world, our only home.

The media can be thanked for this conviction, without it Premchai's wealth surely would have allowed him to walk. Still, the people that worked for him took the heaviest hits so it was still a typical Thai result.

What a shame that you do not like "weasel words" [sic], words that are accurate and factual.  It's also factual that they were not all charged with the same offences and that could be something to do with available evidence.  You do not seem to be complaining about the man who got the suspended sentence, do you?

Garbage.  Many wealthy defendants have received non-suspended jail sentences.  Prisoners with serious health issues do not get to serve their time in luxury, private hotels!

Such anger! Relax and do a search and please name one. (and I meant hospitals, not hotels).

"...When asked for a response to the verdict, Premchai only said: “I’m sorry...”

I think that Thais should enjoy those words, as they are likely the only actual punishment to be received.

We have seen this kind of thing before; there will be appeals. There will be delays on those appeals. The appeals will be appealed. The appeal of the appeal will be appealed. The case will be delayed. the delay of the case will be delayed again. Yet again, there will be more delays. Then, there will be appeals of the delay. Next, the delay granted earlier will be appealed. Then, the appeal of the delay of the appeal, of the delay of the appeal will be delayed.

Anyone willing to wager that he actually goes to jail?

Anyone?

We have seen it time and time again; the rich always get off, somehow. Why do people think this is different?

"...He was released on bail as of press time. .."

The quote above is the most important piece of information in the article...

this is stupid rich family though

major shares in HSBC in addition to company

they probably beleive its humiliation enough

also he is related distantly to elephants that should not be named

Come on, get real. The highly paid staff were brainstorming. What could we do for fun? Answer: let's go poaching.

They dragged their unwilling boss along. Making the chap carry the gun, too.

Sarcasm off, can the judge now retire?

Four people were convicted for arranging, financing and leading this illegal hunt?

Usually, in criminal cases, the ringleader gets the stiffest sentence. Not the hired help, the underlings, not those who just follow orders.
