Heartbreaking. The heartlessness of the people who can just drive off and ignore their dog, being blind to his efforts to catch up, a dog who worships his family, is mind boggling. For Buddhists for whom life is so sacred, it is even worse. While I see much wrongdoing in this country, by foreigners and locals alike, this sort of behaviour is to my mind, seriously disgraceful and unacceptable.

You tink tooooo mutt!

But I agree with you wholeheartedly. ????

In UK at the moment and where we are staying next to the beach every morning people are walking their dogs on the beach. Every owner is carrying a couple of bags and each and every time a dog has a crap it's bagged and taken away by the owner.

All the dogs are so well behaved and just love having fun with each other.

Owners sit and chat and the dogs do their own thing playing around.

Reason for the above post, my wife made the comment 'why can't people at home do the same with their dogs'

Goldfish hater!  My goldfish are much better than a stinky dog.  They never bite people, never make a noise at night, and don't spread rabies.

Dogs are 'better' then people?!  Are you including yourself and your family in that statement?

What the poster should have said was : some dogs are better company than some people . I have a golden retriever & has never bit anyone , does not make noise at night , & thankfully does not have rabies . I certainly prefer her company to a lot of people . Goldfish are good curried I believe .

If your a responsible dog owner, your dog won't stink. You may probably smell worse than a stinky dog. And yes, dogs are better than people. Much better than your opinion. I support Soi Dog & SPCA's. They get my donations. These animals have no voice. They're at our mercy & kindness. You don't like dogs, fine. Avoid them. Dogs love unconditionally & your not worthy of such a fun companion as a dog.

People charities can survive on their own, we have a voice.

Looks like the dog in the picture is following it's owner, a soi dog would not walk out in the traffic chasing a big vehicle like that. So I believe this story. Just shows you how much life is worth here, both humans and pets can be dumped or killed.

'They are at our mercy and kindness'.  Hmm... isn't that they same will all animals?  Do you not eat pigs, cows, chickens?  Are you feeding your dogs the processed bodies of dead factory farmed animals... which also are at your mercy and kindness?  Why are dogs the super, better than human, animal, and not pigs, cows or ducks?

'Dog's are better than people'.  I am so sorry for you, that in your life your have not met any kind, loving, and caring people.  You must have had a sad, lonely and dysfunctional family and social life experience with other people to think dogs are better than humans.  Or, maybe you have a personality disorder which makes it hard for you to socialise and communicate with your fellow human beings?

Also,  don't you know that not all people have a voice?  Oppressed, living in fear, war, abused, slavery, under the thumb of dictatorships or evil religions etc.  But I am sure you would help a stray street dog over helping a starving, abused, child in a war zone, and would never consider giving those charities any of you donations.  What kind of person are you?!

Try riding with your eyes open and paying attention to the road and all

over sudden “this kind of dogs” are not dangerous but oblivious riders are

Roads are for motorists  not for out of control dogs, cats chickens, buffalo or elephants to roam around on,

obviously an Elephant is much easier to spot than a dog running out from  a row of parked cars..but they have been known to menace and chase vehicles too.

They are nothing but vermin.

Why is it, when I watch a movie where thousands of humans die, I feel nothing; but when a dog dies I'm all choked up. We are the vermin.

Maybe you haven't read my post No 46 at the top of this page, had you done so I think you might understand from where my opinions are borne.

In my mind anyone that can advocate the rights of dogs to roam freely over the safety and well being of children is a very strange person indeed.

Yeah, I'm strange. Mostly, I'd say we shoukd neuter all these dogs. Children I leave to my SO. As a man, I stay away from children. I have no natural affinity for them, at best I smile politely.

Your damn right I would. You go ahead & support victims of man made atrocities. I'll help out with the animals. If I ever witnessed someone abusing an animal, I'd be right on their throats! You'd have to be damn psychopathic & heartless to harm, abuse & neglect any animal.

I'm glad your feeling sorry for me. I don't feel one heartbeat of emotion for you.

Your not very good at math are you.

and if it was YOUR Grandmother?

No point trying to be reasonable with over the top dog  lovers like  yourself, many people  enjoy their dogs and are responsible, but that's NOT in Thailand.

My dog is NOT stinky (she sleeps on my bed).

She would never bite a person (maybe you, not sure).

Never makes a noise at night.

Could not spread rabies!

But if I had a dumb goldfish tank, she might stick her paw in, catch a little fish and eat it. ????

Typical.... you are a dog owner who is basically threatening me that your dog could bite me, like you think its OK for a dog to bite someone you don't like.  Nice.

Wow.  I think you are born a dog in a human body.  Maybe you could have an operation to change you into a street dog?

No emotions or empathy for suffering people / children, and even saying dogs are better and more important than your own family and friends (but maybe you don't have any to compare them with).

You love your animals so much... yet you support killing them, eating them, slaughtering them in inhumate conditions, factory farming.

Go watch your dog lick its balls / private parts and them give it a big sloppy kiss.  55

I've only ever met two dog owners I consider have an unbiased and balanced attitude towards their dogs.

Their comments to me.... "My Dog has never bitten anyone and I don't think it will, but its still a dog so you never know"... (when advising me of caution when my Son was in the room)

Anyone who suggests their dog would never bite anyone is replacing logic with their emotion and love for the animal. Anyone who suggests their dog is better than a 'human' is just starting to use daft comparison - a dog can never compare to a human, it can't do the same things, it can't converse. I think the implication is that 'there is less chance of a dog causing emotional discomfort than a human' which I think is fair enough, after all the expectations placed on a dog are usually far less than the expectations we place on humans.

That said, I'm not a 'dog lover' but despise anyone who would be cruel to animals. I despise the system which permits continued cruelty by not implementing painless methods to control stray dogs in Thailand.

The example of cruelty this thread exposes in its opening post is awful and highlights how disgustingly careless some can be.

Sounds very much like our dog. She is only 15 months old and follows me around everywhere. She loves my wife too, but doesn't obey her.

Yes, I also take her in at night as last year our other dog suddenly died of toxic poisoning. Not sure where from though.

I haven't watched the video and don't intend to as things like that upset me. Dogs become very loving and faithful and I simply cannot understand that people just dump them. Would they suddenly dump their children?

Probably

You are the vermin not the mistreated dogs by the humans...

Yes, and it was causing a danger to other road users in the process.
There are far too many dogs roaming free in Thailand, causing a nuisance, danger and damage to people and their property, it is high time something was done about it. They are nothing but vermin.
