ROME (Reuters) - Italy endorsed China's ambitious "Belt and Road" infrastructure plan on Saturday, becoming the first major Western power to back the initiative to help revive the struggling Italian economy.

WASHINGTON/WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Reuters) - U.S. Attorney General William Barr pored over a special counsel report into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and whether the Trump campaign coordinated with Moscow, and was due to release key findings perhaps as early as Sunday.

Driver and 14 passengers injured in Chachoengsao van accident

Nine Cambodian and five Thai passengers were injured on Saturday when the van they were travelling in fell into a roadside ditch in Chachoengsao's Phanom Sarakham district.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand's king made an unexpected call for "security" and "happiness" on the eve of the first election since a 2014 army coup, but made no mention of a poll critics say has been engineered to keep the military in power.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - An international observer group said it would face limitations in judging to what extent Thailand's general election on Sunday is free and fair, partly because it was granted accreditation too late to get more than 35 monitors into the country.

BANGKOK -- Two of Thailand's biggest retailers, Siam Piwat and The Mall Group, have unveiled multiyear plans totaling around 150 billion baht ($4.7 billion) in investments ahead of general elections on Sunday.
