rooster59
Video: Alcohol ban leaves Pattaya bars deserted Pattaya’s most popular night spots were eerily quiet on Saturday night with many go-go bars and clubs closing due to the 24 hour alcohol ban in effect ahead of Sunday’s elections. Footage shared by local Pattaya news site Siam Chon showed that while some tourists had ventured out to Walking Street, it was unusually quiet for a Saturday night, with many venues closed and the scores of sex workers who work at the city’s famous bars nowhere to be seen. Elsewhere, some bars that had decided to stay open were telling would be customers that alcohol would not be on sale, which left many of the bars and clubs deserted. Tourist police could be seen patrolling Walking Street and other bar areas making sure that the strict alcohol ban was being adhered to. Thailand will hold its first elections since the military seized power in 2011. The 24 hour alcohol ban ends at 6pm on Sunday 24 March. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2019-03-
