One needs to be active which would be a daily exercise routine, doing volunteer work, and meeting up with a circle of friends over coffee. I live 200m from a BTS station so that takes away some of the pain. I drive a scooter but select the times of day and the days I go out. That said, I can go anywhere in and around BKK and never touch a road really. I am happy to walk also. Driving habits and manners infuriate me, but luckily I see more of it on ThaiVisa videos than in real life. Immigration - once a year with my Agent with all monies and paper correct. A wasted day but that is .27% of my life, and I do not do 90 day reports as I am always in and out of the country. All researched and sorted before I got here. The plusses far outweight the negatives if you play by their rules. If people want to skirt around the edges then be prepared for the ride. It's not all that difficult if one plays it straight. I've got used to driving in Thai traffic with scooter and car. Good question, especially the "do better" part. Better in which way? I wouldn't be able to have a pretty young girl half my age as my girlfriend back "home". So in that way it's in Thailand a lot better than "home". I also like the warm weather here compared to the cold far away. I work here and my income is ok. I would earn more money somewhere else but probably it also would be more expensive to live in those places. I think all together it's important that we really think about what we want and our priorities. It doesn't make sense to move to Thailand because of one reason and not looking at he whole picture. But if we compare many aspects and be realistic we should be able to decide what we really want. For me, Thailand is just fine. It's not perfect but I don't think there is the perfect place anywhere on this world. I see the good parts, I try not to worry about the not so good parts and enjoy my life. Carpe diem!
