webfact
Police probe marijuana production at development centre By The Nation Police found evidence of a marijuana growing when they raided a rice strain development centre in Suphan Buri's Muang district on Thursday. Under the direction of provincial police chief Pol Maj General Khomsak Sumangkaset, a 30-strong police and army team searched the centre in tambon Sa Kaew. They found 200 marijuana plants along with five bags of marijuana seeds, some dried and powdered weed products as well as 22 litres of marijuana liquid. The five workers at the centre were taken to the Sa Kaew precinct for questioning. They told police that the marijuana plants and products were for the medicinal experiments by a foundation. They said the plants belonged to a foundation executive who went on a trip aboard and was due to return in three or four days. The workers said they didn't know if the marijuana growing had received proper permission. Police later released the workers and summoned the foundation's legal official for information. Police said they would later summon the foundation executive.
