Davejf2017
I have renewed my extension of stay of my O/A (retirement) visa early it was due to expire on the 27th April this year.I will be flying to the UK before the 27th and return after 27th April.Getting a re entry permit due you think I will encounter any problems on my return to Thailand or would 2 re entry permits be needed as am leaving Thailand on this years extension and returning on next years.I will go to my Immigration which is Jomtien on Wednesday to get the re entry permit.Thank you in advance for any advice given. jacko45k
Your re-entry permit will be based on your new extension, and since you will be returning after the 27th of April it needs to be!
sniggie
As I learnt several years ago when I renewed my visa extension early because of a planned trip to the UK the re-entry permit refers to your current visa extension only. So when you renew your visa extension your previous re-entry permit 'dies'. You have to obtain a new one to go with your new extension regardless of the expiry date of the previous permit. Your new visa extension and re-entry permit will be valid from the date that they are stamped into your passport so you will have no problem travelling or re-entering regardless of the expiry dates on your previous permit.
