Features 35 expansive ultra-modern luxury pool villas overlooking the glittering Gulf of Thailand

09 April 2019 – MASON has been unveiled as an appealing new beachfront retreat in Pattaya overlooking Thailand’s glittering Gulf Coast.

MASON is the latest head-turning masterpiece by award-winning studio Vaslab and a new Design Hotels™ member; a tangible celebration of the rich tradition of masonry, in particular, the stone carvers of the Ang Sila community.

A luxurious sanctuary that blends contemporary style with cultural sophistication, artistic design and a blissful beachfront, MASON is set directly on the shoreline of Na Jomtien Beach—just 15 minutes from the center of Pattaya and a two-hour drive from Bangkok—in an ideal destination far enough from the crowds to feel secluded, yet easily accessible from the city and both Suvarnabhumi International Airport and U-tapao Airport.

"Pattaya is one of Thailand's most adored beach destinations so it is our pleasure to unveil such a stunning luxury pool villa resort on a private coastline under our concept ‘A Uniquely Crafted Beachfront Experience’" Pornpun Ratanapitakkul, General Manager of MASON, said.

“I am very proud that MASON was designed by award winning architect Vasu Virajsilp of Vaslab and that we were selected to join Design Hotels, which represents and markets a curated selection of over 300 independent hotels in more than 60 countries across the globe, each reflecting the ideas of a visionary hotelier that has a passion for genuine hospitality, cultural authenticity, thought-provoking design and architecture. Our goal from the start was to combine a high-end luxury beachfront with thoughtful design and a crafted hospitality experience” she explained.

MASON is 35 expansive pool villas spanning the 168-square-meter elevated Beachfront Grand Pool Villa located at the very front row of the private beach looking out to sea,  the 168-square-meter Beachside Seaview Pool Villa in the second row just steps from the sea, the 154-square-meter Duplex Grand Pool Villa spread over two floors, the 180-square-meter elevated Double Grand Pool Villa with its two ocean view bedrooms and the 90-square-meter Garden Pool Villa, set within the resort’s lush tropical garden.

Sip cocktails at Krok-A-Café Espresso Bar before plunging into the infinity pool, or simply relax to the sea view with a good book until the sunsets, when guests are beckoned to savour succulent seafood, contemporary Thai cuisine and signature dishes made of internationally sourced fresh ingredients at Zila Street Bistro & Bar, with its choice of indoor and outdoor seating.

Beachside Bar, a beautiful terrace and patio where guests can recline on sun loungers with their favorite drinks to the soothing sounds of the waves, is also one of the resort’s most romantic spots, offering a spectacular sunset view. For a relaxing treat, guests can have a day at MASON Spa, where Eastern and Western massage techniques have been combined into extraordinary treatments, including the “MASON ZILA Signature Massage”, which features special stones with unique qualities only found in the Ang Sila community.

MASON is also committed to sustainability and is always seeking to minimize its footprint on the environment.  The resort’s philosophy is for guests to experience all it has to offer “not just once, but for generations to come”.

“I wish guests a truly memorable experience here at MASON and look forward to welcoming all to this new luxury beachfront resort" Ms. Pornpun added.

So now the beach is private so tourists can't be there or???

Wonder if it's all legally built ? Interesting that they advise the executives of the company headquartered in Berlin but as we know they must be operating as a Thai company in Thailand so hence have 51% Thai shareholding. Their Thai homepage give no information as to the name of the Thai company who must be operating this venture. Wonder who the Thai shareholders are ? Obviously not nominees as that would be illegal but maybe people of influence hence being able to gain permission to build on the beach front perhaps ?

"Pattaya is one of Thailand's most adored beach destinations".

A slight embellishment of the facts wouldn't you say? Yes Pattaya is a beach destination, and yes it is probably "adored" by many, but any adoration is most certainly not for the beach.

Apart from that why do such places portray themselves as being in Pattaya when the reality is that this is around 20KM away South of Ban Amphur? Then anyone fooled by the false marketing spends their holiday at the mercy of dishonest taxi drivers every time they want to go somewhere.

Welcome to the Land Of Scams.

It's a rather large hotel company comparable to Hilton and co, u can be assured they got their legal structuring done correctly.

You do not need Thai shareholders for this, you can simply run a BOI company.

The whole thai company nonsense is only to keep us small private investors down down, it doesn't apply to rich corps.

That said, there's no such thing as a private beach in Thailand, and most of the rest of the world. You can't own a beach here, it's owned by the government. What u own is the land after the beach ends, it's bs advertisement.

Well having been involved in that process in "earlier lives" registering a BOI company is hardly simple and I just had it checked  and couldn't  find Mason as a BOI registered company, or perhaps operating under another trading name ?  Also only under specific circumstances is a company able to undertake BOI registration with only non Thais as directors.  The hotel business is not one of those exceptions so hence if the company is operating and registered as a hotel business it will indeed require Thai national participation.

As you seem to be involved perhaps you could advise the operating BOI registered legal entity in Thailand or else  advise whom the Thai shareholders are if just a conventional Thai registered company, just for clarity of course.

Wasn't there an issue some years ago about this with Lord MacLaurin (ex boss of Tesco's) and a resort development in Phuket?

its owned by sth called kwave co ltd which seems to be a thai company: https://www.hoteljob.in.th/hotels/105384/

Why would i be involved lol? i only know design hotels as its a german company. they dont seem to own hotels, its just a club u can join with a hotel you own urself as far as google told me.

As i said their private beach advertisement is bullshit and should be forbidden, you can't legally stop people to go on a piece of public government owned land ... all they have is a bit of fancy sand after the gov owned beach they've prolly put there themselves.

Which one? Design hotels is just a club for design hotels that does marketing etc.

that hotel seems to be owned by a normal thai company...nothing special imo except the usual bs private beach advertisements

However desirable this place is, will the tide wash in the usual plastic and other rubbish onto the "private" beach? Do the Chinese qualify as residents?
