rooster59
Eleven guns go missing from Thong Lo police station after "envelope" investigation Image: Thai Rath - Caption: Eleven guns missing Thai Rath reported that eleven guns had been stolen from a mail room on the third floor of Thong Lo police station in downtown Bangkok. It is believed to be an inside job following an investigation set up by the station chief into irregular activities regarding envelopes and parcels and bail money. Station chief and Region 5 chief Pol Col Chanin Wachirapaneekun had ordered an investigation into the mail room on 29th March, said Thai Rath. But as that was being carried out a metal cabinet was found forced open in Room 302 on the third floor on Thursday. A police captain reported that eleven guns had gone missing - one Taurus, eight Smith and Wesson and 2 Sig Sauers. There is no CCTV in the room. Thai Rath said that sources suggested it was an inside job and mentioned that one former officer at the station is being sought in connection with the matter. They reported that station chief Chanin was furious at the goings on. Source: Thai Rath -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2019-04-

Quote It is believed to be an inside job following an investigation set up by the station chief into irregular activities regarding envelopes and parcels and bail money. Lol ... no Sh*t Sherlock. Quote Thai Rath said that sources suggested it was an inside job ... If it wasn't then everyone should be even more concerned about the uselessness of the police farce than is already normal. Thanks for the comedy news report.

geoffbezoz
The station chief will be gunning for some one. It is claimed that 11 weapons are missing. Were they there in the first place or just an inflated inventory to justify an inflated purchase invoice ? Good job the Key Stone cops are on to this. neeray
It doesn't say much about the police when they talk openly about "envelopes" disappearing. Guns too, although police having guns is legitimate. Great (inept) security.
BestB
Hard to believe weapons would be stored in a metal cabinet instead of a safe

Seems there is no shortage of bent cops at Thong Lo Police Station. In November last year two crooked Thong Lo police officers were suspended for trying to shakedown a Hong Kong tourist.
