mercman24
think this guy has got a screw loose, a total prick all through his playing career, those of us with good memories, and now he appears to be carrying on the same in civilian life, leopard and spots spring to mind
blazes
What do you want Joey to be? Rather than manager of Fleetwood, why isn't he being recommended for the job of being Archbishop of Canterbury? He's got a big gob, but let's praise the guy for attempting (as he did) to rise above his background and try to do some intelligent reading and studying. One thing's for sure: Joey Barton is not a lazy sonofabitch. He put in a shift in his playing career and he believes "civilians" should do the same. Jonnapat
If you are familiar with this person you will surely know that he has been trouble all his life in football. Why clubs keep hiring him is beyond common sense.

Correct me if I am wrong but no Archbishop of Canterbury has been proven to be an out an out thug and been convicted of same. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/03/02/10-players-who-have-returned-to-football-after-time-in-prison/

However Child sex abuse is another matter, and prevalent through almost all religions. But we are talking here of the thug Joey Barton and "blazes" suggested in post #8 he should be recommended as Archbishop of Canterbury.
Burma Bill
Quote from Wikipedia:-(say no more!) "Barton's career and life have been marked by numerous controversial incidents and disciplinary problems[2] and he has been convicted twice on charges of violence. On 20 May 2008, he was sentenced to six months' imprisonment for common assault and affray during an incident in Liverpool City Centre.[3] Barton served 74 days of this prison term, being released on 28 July 2008.[4] On 1 July 2008, he was also given a four-month suspended sentence after admitting assault occasioning actual bodily harm on former teammate Ousmane Dabo during a training-ground dispute on 1 May 2007.[5] This incident effectively ended his Manchester City career.[6] Barton has been charged with violent conduct three times by The Football Association: for the assault on Dabo,[7] for punching Morten Gamst Pedersen in the stomach[8] and for attacking three players on the final day of the 2011–12 season.[9]

Rather have him in my team than play against him. Let's cut the him a bit of slack. Also has a sense of humour.

Bredbury Blue
Fleetwood Town manager Joey Barton reportedly punched and headbutted Daniel Stendel on Saturday, knocking out two of the Barnsley boss's teeth. The report says Barton chased Stendel down the tunnel at full-time, allegedly launching a violent attack when the German said he was "just a <deleted> scally." Justgrazing
I used to love his faux French accent when at Marseille after QPR shipped him for losing it big style and getting sent off in their end of season game against Man City .. Only Steve McLaren's p*sspoor Dutch accent is more unbelievable .. If what is said occured really happened at Oakwell , Barton is in serious trouble and now the Plod are involved that it would seem is the case ..
