A Songkran reveler dubbed "Mr Lustful" in the media was soon in custody after being featured on social media on Saturday.

Phiphat Singsane, 30, had grabbed a woman on a motorcycle and kissed her and had used his hands to grab her groin area and fondle her bottom.

The victim went to the Muang Ubon Ratchathani cops to file a complaint.

Phiphat was arrested Sunday - seemingly still in the same "Eat Me" t-shirt.

He told station chief Pol Col Adithep Phichadun that it was all a bit of fun and he didn't think it would end up being a big deal.

He had been drinking lao khao (white spirit) all day and when he saw the woman he fancied a bit of a grope.

The perp and the cop were all smiles at the station.

But if the police take promised action Phiphat could end up in jail for molestation.

No charges were mentioned in the Daily News story.

Just a shame the cop isn't taking the report of molestation or his profession seriously!

He should have the guy chained to the desk & hovering over him like a vulture !

Yeah.  Scare the crap out of the guy.  That's one way to keep a conversation going.

The cop's job is to get the information.  It's someone else's job to do the punishing.

Why not ignore the photo opportunity. In some tourism areas such behavior would fill holding  cells if legally acted on. This Thai punter will probably be  made to suffer regardless of that and justifiably so.

But that is in  contrast to what is ignored from tourist  so often and assumed  acceptable as part of the  attraction of the  areas it occurs in.

According to this article the victim has already filed a complaint so it is not in the policeman’s remit to choose whether to proceed or not.

No, but it's his job to gather evidence.  One very effective way to do that is to establish a rapport with the suspect and get him to spill his guts.

Good cop- bad cop and all.  Doesn't work so well if they all play "bad cop".   And in some cases, nobody needs to play that role.  This looks like one of those cases.

That meat loaf cop survived the 12 meter jump on a rubber rope to get his jumper batch???

No - he got the insignia jumping off the office chair or purchased in Khao San Rd. Now, should have it taken off him until he completes, under supervision, 50 jumps per day without stopping (off office chair) every day for the next 6 months before he gets it back. The shirt may then fit. S**b!
