A TV personality, as well as a marine expert who had recently visited the Notre-Dame Cathedral before it was largely destroyed by a huge blaze on Monday local time, have written in memory of the city’s iconic landmark.

TV personality Patcharasri “Kalamare” Benjamas, wrote on her Facebook page, Kalamare, that she was in Paris and had just visited the Cathedral a few days before the fire broke out.

“I didn’t think that it would be the last time that I had the opportunity to visit the majestic and sacred cathedral. It is among the cathedrals that I love,” she posted.

“This was a huge loss and I am very sorry. Please accept my sorrow and my moral support to all Christians and all French people. May God be with you.”

She also posted her photos taken during the cathedral visit. Her Facebook page has 819,567 followers.

Other Thais are also sharing their memories of visiting the cathedral and sending their sympathies to the French.

Thon Thamrongnawasawat, a marine expert, posted on his Facebook page that he just yesterday visited the Notre-Dame Cathedral and had planned to write about the visit for “Friends of Thon” on his FB page.

But today a huge fire hit the cathedral, causing devastating damage, he wrote. “I have visited the cathedral scores of times. I visited it every time I came to Paris.”

He sympathized with all French people and said it was a huge loss to the world. Thon also posted a photo of the cathedral he shot during yesterday’s visit.
