A Thai driver in a Honda City left a trail of destruction that resulted in at least eight people being injured yesterday.

Dechnarong Wongmoon, 29, fled the scene of an accident in the Ramkhamhaeng area of the city and then started going the wrong way in a panic.

He then went the wrong way up a down ramp onto the expressway at Sri Nakharin colliding with more vehicles including a taxi.

There were three French tourists in one of two severely damaged taxis.

In all three cars and three motorcycles were damaged in the rampage.

Dechnarong was found to be sober and is in hospital.

and the police has filed no charges yet. What about fleeing the scene of an accident? Just a suggestion.

It seems that is not a crime in Thailand. Or at least not a serious crime.

Then attempted manslaughter...   he surely knew his deliberate actions could have resulted in someones death...

Attempted manslaughter ?

There is no such thing, nor can there be. Manslaughter has no intent so to attempt to kill someone would require some form of intent.

Valid point...  then, Grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving and Grievous bodily injury by careless driving under the influence of drink or drugs ...

In the cases of death... Vehicular Manslaughter...

When someone knows they may injure or murder someone through their actions of driving dangerously or drunk... then the charge of attempted murder seems applicable.
