Trains packed with passengers returning from Songkran holidays

BANGKOK, 16 April 2019 (NNT) -Thousands of people are now returning to Bangkok by train while the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has prepared 15 extra train trips to accommodate passengers and prevent anyone from being stranded up country.

 

At Hua Lamphong Railway Station, people are now arriving back from their hometown and Songkran trips. Today, April 16 which is the last day of the Songkran festival, the SRT has provided four special train services on the routes Sisaket - Bangkok, Silaas - Bangkok, Ubon Ratchathani – Bangkok and Udon Thani - Bangkok to accommodate people who are returning to Bangkok, following Songkran, 2019.

 

The SRT has prepared 15 extra trains and additional carriages for April 16, to accommodate the multitude of passengers, all needing to get back to Bangkok where they live and work. With the extra trains, SRT will be able to support 100,000 to 120,000 passengers per day.
