webfact
Post-Songkran blues! Top doctor tells the Thais how to cope Picture: INN The head of Thailand's mental health department has told his compatriots how to cope with the post-Songkran holiday blues. Dr Kiatphoom Wongrajit issued a five point plan to help Thais avoid depression and get back to the mundaneness of ordinary working life. Here are his top tips as reported by INN: 1. Plan your life ahead - give some structure to your existence. 2. Make a note of things you should change - New Year resolutions from January might be adjusted, for example. 3. Communicate to people around you - that'll help with getting back to work after the long break. 4. Don't compare yourself with other people - we're all different with differing aspirations. 5. Find new experiences such as studying something new, engaging in new activities or planning for the next holiday trip. Thaivisa notes that due to Songkran not yet ending in Pattaya, residents there are advised to wait until next week before turning over a new leaf. sammieuk1
I will self medicate the trauma by sticking my head in a bucket of tepid diluted urine to relive this years experience and maybe find a Chinese donation for authenticity ????
overherebc
I suffer from post Songkran happiness. I can go out again when I feel like it without having to plan the 'dry' route to get where I want. Traffic goes back to it's usual breakneck speed and no big 20 kilometre long traffic jams, barring pile-ups. Daytime roads are not too bad coz people go back to work. Mains water pressure goes back up etc All in all no reason to get depressed.
CGW
His "compatriots" are a lot different to the Thai's I have dealings with. How about:- 1. Pay of your debts & stop borrowing! 2. The lucky number aint going to happen - stop relying on it for your future! 3. There are more people than "YOU" in the world - remember that! Oziex1
One day of throwing water around can be fun, but three is labouring the point a little. One roadside group up here in Issan had a Nazi swasticker flag flying. Just thought you might like to know that.

You should have put up the Union Jack and start to shoot 'em up with your watergun. Nothing like old feuds to spice up the little holy buddha splashing event.
