CharlieH
"A person may feel numbness in their legs and feet due to sitting in a position that puts too much pressure on the nerves or reduces blood flow. However, long-lasting or unexplained numbness may be a sign of an underlying medical condition. Long-term numbness or a tingling feeling in the legs and feet may be due to conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS), diabetes, peripheral artery disease, or fibromyalgia. The sensation may be felt in the whole leg, below the knee, or in different areas of the foot." https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/321560.php

Sheryl
You need to see a doctor right away. this could be indicative of severe nerve compression in your spine, diabetic neuropathy, or a circulatory disorder among other things.

If you drink a lot of coffee, see these links, among others: https://healingfeet.com/running/is-caffeine-bad-for-runners-feet-health-considerations-for-athletes-who-drink-coffee https://www.livestrong.com/article/553860-can-caffeine-cause-your-arms-to-fall-asleep/ I previously had tremendous hip joint pain, I could barely walk. Stopped all caffeine, and things went back to normal, by itself, in about six months. I knew a guy that couldn't walk due to excruciating pain in the soles of his feet. Stopped all caffeine and the problem went away.

donim
It can be medicial, food but also your furniture. Worn sofas, will close the circulations in your leg. Long time sitting, and your feets / legs would feel numb. The same is with bad chair position and even wrong underwears and wearing belts while seating. Don't find out this now by trying other furniture or changing diet. but first go to to doctor, have him look at this. Better safe then sorry. Yme
Could be a vascular problem. Are you/ were you a smoker? Do you have/ have you been tested for diabetes? A doppler test will be indicative of the different pressures in your different arteries and is fairly cheap. If treatment is required PM me and I'll hook you up with a good hospital in Chennai. Have a thorough medical check as soon as possible Do rely on Dr Google I have a similar condition, now for about 8 yrs. I had neuropathy testing of my feet through a specialist neurologist in Oz. The testing involved electronic impulse testing for nerve activity in my feet. Symptoms are usually numbness under the sole of your feet, but I find it less troubling in a warmer climate compared to a 4 season of cold and hot climate. It was confirmed that I had nerve damage, but reasons couldn't be explained. Checked for diabetes, negative, and general prognosis is there is no cure. It could be related to my rheumatoid arthritis or meds taken for RA. The jury is still out.

user343434
before thinking the worse try some simple tricks. Eat olives every day as it cleans clogged veins. Olives are the main reason why the Greeks have the oldest population on the world and almost no Strokes and heart failures. (and continuously running out of money ???? ) For many they taste horrible but eating for some time makes your taste buds adapting to them and they taste good. I had the same symptoms over a year with increasing age and within 2 weeks after starting this diet the first signs were visible all went back to normal over the coming months. But if you feel also sometimes Kidney Problems it also could be too much potassium in your blood which the kidneys cannot cope with. Potassium works in both ways, if you never eat fruits it will be may be a shortage and beside numb feet they will keep water and swelling. Then a few Dates per day for breakfast will make you feel better within days.

johnnysunshine
I suggest drinking lots of pure water like at least 2 litres and drink very slowly...absolutely no gulping....so your body can assimilate to see if possibly you are dehydrated and lost your thirst. I have done this before in the past (lost my thirst) and did not even know I was dehydrated. Besides walking which is downward pressure on your feet, stick your feet in the water and do foot flexing movements for a while to see if you see improvement. AAArdvark
Run, or limp, to a clinic and have a simple cheap A1C blood test done. Even if you are in the pre-diabetic range, it is probably the cause. If so you will need treatment or it soon becomes nearly impossible alleviate .
smiggley
I have the same problem, seen various doctors who all gave me a handful of different pills but nothing worked so went to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and after 3 hours of testing and 30000 baht later the specialist said there was nothing wrong , gave me a handful of pills and told me to come back in a month. I now take pain killers and sleeping pills at night to sleep waiting to go on holiday to NZ to see if they can fix the problem. I am 59 and had various medicals and everything else is fine. KhunKenAP
I have had the same problem. In my case it is due to circulation issues. For the past couple of months I have been using a masseuse that is good at lower leg and vascular massage. I am finally getting feeling back into my feet. If you want her name and number send me an email. You can find information on my profile page. She makes house calls. Only 300 baht an hour. Bonobojt
Clearly it could be related to your back issues, it could be a severe mechanical skeletal issue, circulation or nerve problems, go to see a decent doctor would be a good first step. Also eat healthy, cut out the processed junk food and unhealthy fats, See if it helps. Maybe if your overweight then losing some weight might help
