Meddle
Hi guys, I'm sure this has been asked a gazillion times, but laws change that amount of times too ; ) I'm on a South African passport - I always get a free 30 day stamp at immigration. Does anyone know if this is still the case? I can't seem to find anything concrete online, wading through different info on different sites. Cheers! ubonjoe
Yes you can still get a 30 day visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days at a immigration office.
Meddle
That was a quick and simple reply! Thanks!! Pity I could spend 38 days in Thailand before having to fly back to China, but that would mean the 2,000 Baht extension. Might just pay it
ubonjoe
The fee for the extension is 1900 baht.
Meddle
Cheers; you're pretty clued up, do you get updated info from a particular site?

In this case is use a list of countries for voa, visa exempt and etc that is a file stored on the Department of Consular affairs. But today the link for that file was dead. The current file was updated in December and it still had South Africa on it since I have checked it recently for that info.
jackdd
Ubonjoe just forgot to give you the hint that when you board your plane to Thailand the check-in staff may require you to show a ticket out of the country within 30 days. (There is a Thai law which requires this, not really enforced by Thai immigration, but regularly enforced by the airlines)
Meddle
Yes, the onward or return ticket I know of, I was more concerned that visa policies had changed. Thanks again ; )
