Future Forward’s Piyabutr given nine days to clarify various allegations

 

   

BANGKOK, 19 April 2019 (NNT) - The Technology Crime Suppression Division has given Future Forward Party’s Secretary-General time to submit his statement against charges of contempt of the constitutional court and violation of the Computer Crimes Act, by 25th April.

 

Future Forward Party’s secretary-general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul has revealed after acknowledging charges against him by the National Council for Peace and Order, concerning his alleged contempt of the Constitutional Court and violation of the Computer Crimes Act after being summoned by the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD), saying that he remains confident of Thailand’s justice system and the work of investigators and related officers.

 

The TCSD has given Mr Piyabutr nine days to gather his witnesses and evidence, and to submit his statement regarding the allegations by 25th April.

 

TCSD Spokesman Pol Col Siriwat Deepor has confirmed Mr Piyabutr will not be retained at this time as the case is still undergoing the necessary investigation, while his case will be processed justly, upholding the freedom and rights of all parties.

 

Acknowledgement of Mr Piyabutr’s charges was observed by delegates from the United Nations, and a National Human Rights Commissioner Mrs Angkhana Neelaphaijit.

Amazing how the person involved can have such a big impact on the time allowed. That well known General with a wrist full of watches was giving a much longer period to hide justify his ownership. The money raising party for PPRP also received ample time for deliberations. But an opponent must be dealt with very quickly. Strange that.

While the Constitution allows freedom of speech, apparently such freedom should be personally held (talk to oneself?) and not publicly presented. Meanwhile, the Prayut government and the NCPO are free to criticize anything and anybody regardless of any foundation for such statements, and waive the Constitution and laws without accountability.

 

I anticipate that if Prayut is "elected" PM that Thai People's freedoms and rights might be further denigrated by more junta-appointed NLA laws that will essentially make Prayut electoral proof (PM for life?).

How? In comfort of securing PM but prior to endorsement (aka "installation") of the new government and dissolution of the NCPO, Prayut as Chief of the NCPO can issue more Orders that have constitutional authority to politically safeguard his elected PM position (in perpetuity?) and assure that the current NLA passes those orders into law which it is currently doing with currently issued Orders.

Welcome to Thailand, Hun Sen is doing a similar job next door so Prayut and his entourage thought they'd follow suit!

 Mr. Lots of fancy watches , who i like to call Mr Turtle Face, is a 'khon dee'. Naturally being one if the good people he can do no wrong. And as an old turtle, he needs time, so months rather than days is only fair!

 

Piyabutr, Thanathorn and such are not 'khon dee'. They clearly are closet communists and republicans so a swift verdi..  trial and only days to prepare is just. Bonus if the military court can get involved. We must respect the good people and the excellent work of the justice system and independent parties. Foreigners simply don't understand and Thai who ask questions are actually not Thai...
