Do you Tweet?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

While Thaivisa is an excellent way to have longer discussions about life in Thailand, twitter is for faster and sometimes more quirkier chats.

We all should know and follow Thaivisa's twitter account

It's based on the founder of Thaivisa, George.

Do you use twitter yourself?

We could also start to use #thaivisa tag to create twitter discussions of current events in Thailand as well as what is happening on the forum.

Yes, I do have a twitter account but I tend to use FaceBook instead.  I never really got comfortable with the short format.  I guess I am generally too long winded.

I use Twitter from time to time to get the latest updates of the latest news.

I.e. here: https://twitter.com/richardbarrow

But I use it for "listening" only.

I don't think I have much to say to all the people out there. I talk to my friends in person or maybe on the phone or per email. Twitter wouldn't add any value to this.

Twitter is for celebs, their fans, and attention whores. For them it is perfect.

Regular people have no need.

Don't forget the Thai girls and porn.  How are you going to check out the next door neighbor if not on Twitter?

I am sure there are alternatives.

Just go round and talk to them. Never found a need for social media, I much prefer face to face conversations, easier to tell if people are being economical with the truth.

I don't mean bar girls.  There is a new layer of stay at home pro/am hookers that are only accessible online.

It is face to face conversation with your phone.  Go live and talk to them before you meet.  I can meet 20 in an hour and it's far more efficient than walking around knocking on doors not to mention the problems you may cause knocking on a strangers door.  I'd not recommend it.

They all seem to want to converse on line or Instagram or twitter.  Not much for messenger.
