LOL.

Trump was a terrible candidate, and everyone knew it. It's just that more people rejected HRC than Trump and he won.

I'd be extremely surprised if he hadn't done some "questionable" things in his life, as have we all.

It's irrelevant to point out the difference between no collusion and no evidence of collusion if nothing is going to eventuate because of it. He survives- the end.

Sure, except for those 12 or 14 confidential investigations Mueller handed off.

NYT: “[T]he release on Thursday of the report by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, underscored what had grown clearer for months — that while many Trump aides had welcomed contacts with the Russians, some of the most sensational claims in the dossier appeared to be false, and others were impossible to prove. Mr. Mueller’s report contained over a dozen passing references to the document’s claims but no overall assessment of why so much did not check out,” the Times reported.

I didn't know that about the dodgy dossier. I'm laughing like a drain though, because a certain poster ( that's being very quiet ) has been claiming for 2 years that it's all true.

Mueller's report is good news for Trump in so many ways, despite his best efforts to word it as though there is actually something, rather than nothing, for Trump to worry about.

Midterms are always a protest vote.

Parties don't win elections without actual policies that attract voters. Trump had loads of policies his base liked. All the Dems have is hatred.

Not emotional at all. I couldn't be less attached to the outcome of this presidency. My take on Trump is about as objectve as you'll find.

well , i do see some raw emotion in the post:

"Don't get me wrong, I think Trump's only slightly worse as president than several of the presidents we've had in recent decades. I object to him as a person. He's a contemptible human being. A piece of shit who intentionally sets out to hurt others. A narcissist and possibly a sociopath. No one's going to grieve if he died tomorrow and many will celebrate his demise. Not because of his politics, because he has none, but because he's a despicable person and the world's better off whenever a despicable person leaves it."

Do your own googling.  He handed off 12 or 14 investigations as a result of what he found doing his report.  Apparently out of the scope or the timeframe of his investigation.

Here's a good start, though.

You should probably get yourself better informed before calling BS on anyone.  I'm embarrassed for you...

One does not have to be to the 'left' of politics to despise trump as a person and how his lack of ethics flow through to his particularly damaging decisions as president.

That's true. However you have to be emotionally damaged if you think that the USA is going to become a socialist country.

so, "potential" crimes are now under investigation or are they being evaluated as to whether or not they further warrant investigation?

that would be a better description of the situation, wouldn't you agree?

I think my comment is pretty much objective fact. What I don't do is belittle his supporters. America's been going in the wrong direction for a few decades now and I see Trump as an agent of change; a transitional figure. I hope people on both side of the political spectrum will come to see that, and right soon, because I don't relish another 5 1/2 years of this kind of chaos.

well, sorry but stating things like he is a piece of shit who intentionally sets out to hurt people is in NO WAY objective or factual. it is however an opinion you have the right to express.

unfortunately, this type of rhetoric will only boost the chance of another 4 year term, given the hard left turn and vacuous "free stuff" campaigns being touted

The Democrat candidates have all kinds of good policies. Many of which I like. What they don't have is a specific way to pay for them. Not one candidate from either party has mentioned changing the tax code, and changing the tax code is where paying for good policies starts (well, there's Yang, with his VAT, which I embrace, but that doesn't get rid of existing loopholes).

A good example is that corporations are only taxed between 10.5% and 13% on revenues from foreign operations; while foreign revenues account for over 40% of total revenues. It effectively cuts the quite low corporate tax rate significantly.

Nothing is free. But that doesn't mean that a wealthy country can't prioritize certain services for it's citizens. I favor policies whereby the government puts people on an equal footing. Provide an education up through Community College or Trade School. Provide health care that doesn't depend on whether or not you were born to affluent parents. It's the least we can do for our people.

Which any objective taxpayer can see, clear as day. On the subject of Taxes there really only 2 positions to take. 1) you keep more of your money and 2) you pay more in tax in the hopes that you get something in return that you can actually see and feel. Dems are notorious tax & spend politicians and rarely do people actually benefit from this.

They dont have a 'specific' way to pay for it because they intentionally obfuscate the issue by making promises and talking points but dodging and deflecting on the implementation.

And as long as its like that, Ill always vote to keep more of my money and the companies I work for to keep more of their money.

what is left out of the report is much more telling as to the motive of the special counsel and the people who staged its creation.

No mention of fusion GPS, no mention of the DNC/Hillary campaign paying for the dossier or the fact that it was not verified in any way

that would justify the level of spying and entrapment attempts.

They keep bringing up obstruction of a sham investigation as if there was a crime committed. not one consideration as to the validity of

the investigation and the biased individuals behind it.

That is going to be the basis of the next round of investigations. It will be the dems for the grotesque  malfeasance and outright distortions. Indictments on the way.

Unfortunately, the lefts intention is to give and promise just enough to win, and then turncoat and backtrack. Social safety nets and assistance is great and part of a functioning gov and society, but when billions and trillions are wasted on non-citizens and other countries (which the left wholly supports nowadays) whats the point?

The left used to be the party of the working man, but now they are the party of everyone else BUT the working man.

Actually, Trump's tax cuts have been paid by extra debts during a period of sustained growth.

I have to pay about $2200 less than before and I am the poster boy of blue collar, and I'm a millennial.

And unfortunately this doesn't even remotely come close to the loss I continue to take with Obamacare.

These are facts, and I can back them up, personally.

The big questions:

- If Trump was innocent why did he feel that the special counsel was the end of his presidency, and that he was screwed.

- If Trump was innocent then why did he obstruct justice at every turn?
- If Trump was innocent why did he direct his son to lie about the tower meeting?

- If Trump was innocent why did he continue to lie about the Moscow Trump Tower until he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar?
- If there was no wrongdoing then why did numerous members of his own cabinet or counsel refuse to execute things he ordered them to do? They essentially protected him from himself and protected themselves from criminal wrongdoing that he was ordering them to execute.

Those are hard questions to answer. But I'd invite you to take a crack.

I found this article enlightening, and moreover there are some insightful comments on the attempts of Barr to misinform and to massage the brains of the citizens in favor of the Donald before release of the report :
