To get a one-year Non-O Married, Multiple-entry visa in Savannakhet no proof of funds are required? The holder has to leave Thailand every 90 days but with a multiple-entry will be allowed back in? I know, been there many times and never heard of a fast track option..Couple of years back they changed to a same day service that cost nothing, but I think the local hotels were not to pleased and it stopped... They will ask you when applying for the Lao at the visa window what is your address in Laos as which happens every time I go to Savannakhet. If your doing your Non O and staying the night then wright your hotel address or name of hotel and if your just doing a same day in and out visa run then tell then that your not staying in Laos and going back straight to Thailand. No biggie as I noticed even coming back to Thailand now that immigration officer is asking whats your full Thai address as before I was always just putting down the city where I live. pubba Posted February 21, 2020 Share Posted February 21, 2020 I've been job hunting around SE Asia and just been staying in Thailand on the landing visa + 60 day extension at local immigration office on each trip home. My wife is Thai and we have a daughter, house and car here etc.. There has been 1-3 month stays in other countries between visits here. Most of the stays have been in Vietnam where I'm hoping to settle eventually. After my latest landing + 60 day extension period ended I went to Phnom Penh for a few days and then came back in on a landing visa. Unfortunately I was stopped at immigration and told to stand to one side and wait to speak to a supervisor. No more explanation given, just a sneer and wave of the hand. Meanwhile, the Thai staff were bowing and smiling at the hundreds of masked Chinese tourists lined up at their own queue... But I digress. It turns out the computer had flagged me due to all of the tourist visas over the last 12 months. They didn't care that there were 1 to 3 month stays in Vietnam between each one. They didn't ask to see any proof of income, or cash on hand etc.. When I said that I'd been job hunting and have been affected by the school closure situation in China and other nearby countries they didn't care. The whole attitude towards me was that I was a piece of <deleted> and that I wasn't welcome. At one point the woman said 'if you can't afford to get a 1 year marriage visa you should go home'. Maybe true, but still a little harsh after living in Thailand for the last decade or so on a mixture of 1 year marriage visas and the landing + 60 day extension routine. I pleaded my case and promised that I would either get a 1 year marriage visa or gtfo and she begrudgingly gave me a 30 day visa with the strict provision that it can't be extended. Welcome to Thailand - the land of smiles! The whole experience was humiliating and it's made me even more determined to find a new place to live for my family. Fingers crossed. 30 day visa exempt entry is not a visa and repeated use in same year is frowned upon. A tourist visa allows a 60 day stay that then can be extended. There is no one year marriage visa but there is a multi entry non immigrant O visa valid for one year of up to 90 day entries (which for your travel would be ideal). There are no financial requirements to obtain in Savannakhet or HCMC but you would require original marriage certificate/wife home register copy/wife ID card copy and for HCMC a short note from wife asking for visa to be issued.
