Let's get real, Joe Biden is the first real SOMEBODY to enter the democratic race. It's hard to beat a SOMEBODY with someone less than that. Sanders is sort of a somebody but he just committed election suicide. "trump" is a big orange somebody. Biden's case will be we need to run a somebody against him. It's a good argument. Historically it's hard to beat any incumbent even more so if the economy is good or OK. Best chance of WINNING can be compelling. 

But this "somebody" argument is demolished by recalling the name Clinton in 2016.  Ah, but she had more VOTES. Scrap the Electoral College.  But most modern western democracies are run by governments without an absolute majority in the general election.  See Thatcher, Merkel, May and many many more all over the shop.

Biden is the most hypocritical of all the "somebodies" one could mention.  What on earth are his policies....other than "getting rid of Trump".

Dumping "trump" is at the top of the list of what most democrats as well as many independents and traditional republicans want. By opening with a focus on why it's so important (white nationalists and an a bizarre, unhinged, authoritarian president that panders to them -- BAD!) to do exactly that, Biden has framed his campaign powerfully. It was not weak tea. It was strong black coffee. Everyone pro and con is now paying attention.  Dumping "trump" IS the top priority! Dealing with the negatives in his overlong history and fleshing out policies will all come and he is facing a test of fire. If he emerges, then he will be even stronger. If not, then hopefully whoever does emerge will be the one that can achieve the same highest priority to vanquish the orange one.

Yeah, you're right about "trump" -- his behavior towards women (grabbing their …) and children (being a peeping Donald on underage girls at his beauty pageants) has been despicable. Because attacks from "trump" fans are totally irrelevant. They're going to attack any and all potential challengers to the dear leader. We're in PRIMARY season now. What matters now are DEMOCRATS.

It's a PRIMARY. "trump" fans are going to trash ALL democrats. Their opinions in the context of a primary just really don't matter. I didn't say don't go ahead and trash "trump" fan or not. Fair enough. I appreciate a modicum of sanity in a Presidential candidate. Trump was the king of common sense, lancing the festering boil that is PC and affirmative action. But to that end, the only sane voice I have heard from team democrat is Tulsi Gabbard. But then no conservative wants to see her run against Trump. We want the "Crazy eyes" Cortez's and the "Fauxahontas" Warrens the "3 mansions commie" Sanders, or "Creepy" Joe Bidens doing the running. Easy beasts to hobble right at the critical moment, you know. But if we must have a dem President Gabbard seems to be made of the right stuff.

Maybe. Let's see what happens, OK?  On Biden I'm also looking for the substance. How does he talk about problems in his past that don't fit with the current democratic party? What will his specific policy positions be? Yes we know he'll be to the right of Bernie but by how much? What's his vision for a future after we kick away the criminally corrupt demagogue? He can't only be about the past. He'll need to finesse all that and more to get nominated. This will be no coronation.
