Police are hunting the boyfriend of a 22-year-old woman whose decomposed body with tattoos on both arms was found in a river in Khon Kaen's Muang district on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning relatives confirmed the body was Nam Pong district resident Patcha Poungsuk, who went missing this week.

A gunshot wound was found in her head.

Police applied for an arrest warrant for Patcha's new boyfriend, who was identified only by the nickname Tum. The couple reportedly had a heated argument on April 15, a police source said.

Police also seized the Honda Wave motorcycle that was purportedly used to take the body to the Huai Phra Kheu in Tambon Phra Lap, the source said.

A police investigation found the victim, her boyfriend and another woman were spotted at an apartment on Na Muang Road in Muang Khon Kaen.

CCTV later showed the other two carrying what was believed to be Patcha to the motorcycle. It was suspected that the victim was later shot in the head with a pistol and dumped in the river.

Investigation division deputy commander Colonel Pongrit Khongsirisombat said his team joined Muang Khon Kaen police to investigate the case.

The body was dumped upstream from the spot she was found, Pongrit said.

The suspect had fled Khon Kaen, Pongrit added.

Muang Khon Kaen deputy superintendent Lt Colonel Supan Sukpilaikul said the victim was shot in the middle of her head from above and the bullet was probably lodged inside the skull.

The postmortem result should come out in two days, police said.

Execution-style?   Damn.

I'm surprised there isn't more vigilante justice reports here.  I suspect they may be seriously under-reported.

Just another domestic break-up that ends in someones death... when will Thai learn the alternative option is to walk away !

The number one reason women are murdered worldwide is because of spouse or BF. Thailand is no different

You cant teach someone to walk away they already know the mechanics of it.

The killing of women by a spouse will never end or slow down even.

I wonder what the number of Partner related death in Thailand is?

Surely it is time a full education campaign on Partner Violence and refuges funded by the Government for counselling and support for victims and their children, irrespective of gender, while admitting thehighest number of victims would be female.

Try the number of deaths by partner worldwide. As others have said it's not just a Thai thing.

Or try this one
