Accident at Thepprasit and Thappraya Junction

The Dongtan police were informed of an accident involving a Toyota Fortuner car and a Honda Wave motorbike, which occurred at the Thepprasit and Thappraya Road traffic junction, just in front of Grand Condo, Jomtien, and there was someone injured.

At the scene the police found the motorbike in the middle of the road with only a few scratches. The driver and its passenger were sitting on the footpath – aided by the Sawang rescuers before going to the hospital. Their injuries were fortunately light.

While everyone was waiting for the injured people to return from the hospital, the police started questioning Mr. John Seymour, aged 57, the car driver.

Mr. Seymour told the police that he came from Jomtien direction and was heading for Pratamnak Road. When he reached the junction, his side had the green light so he went through, but suddenly this motorbike came from Thepprasit Road and ran through the red light.

When Miss Mayuree, aged 23, and her passenger came back from the hospital, they also told the police that their side had the green light. Their statements forced the police to make further questioning, until Miss Mayuree confessed that she was speeding to make the green light so didn’t notice if it was still green or not when she went through the junction.

Both parties agreed on the repair expense and left the scene with no case.
