if germany agree's a favourable deal with russia for her gas then good for her,the german market is the biggest in europe and the bigger the customer the better the deal as in most business agreements,it was probably a piece of cake for them ???? and if you think VAT is ever going to drop to 15% you are dreaming yet again, you are just suggesting all these things are going to happen when there probably havent even been mentioned by anybody and even if they were they wouldnt get through the EU parliament and certainly not in our lifetimes.

The point is that as a member of the EU, control over minimum UK VAT rates cannot be challenged.

UK is free to have two reduced rates.

On top of that, UK has agreed to this. Don't like it, should not have agreed. Don't moan after the fact.

Big deal, two. Yes, if you are a member you have to agree to all the EU rules, which are extensive, controlling and becoming more so. I wasn't moaning but I am now.

No, you don't have to agree. But if you agree to certain rules, don't come back later. Parliament has voted.

The people came back after Parliament gave us a referendum. We voted to get out of the EU.

Just a statement. No straws. Not even any blame. Just drama from you.

Yes, almost forgot, this is the level of discussion: don't react to facts in other posts, just ignore and sprout the same lines over and over again. After all you have said them some many times you believe them now, so why shouldn't others.

That's why we don't want to be an EU member anymore. We don't want their rules. We don't want our parliament to accept them regardless of our referendum result. That's the difference between Leave and Remain.
