Can I change the washer inside this type of water tap?

This water tap is leaking, it's about 8 years old.

I know where to buy a full new tap.

My question is whether it's possible to change the washer or whatever is inside taps nowadays, or is it better to just buy a full new tap?

Thanks.

I think you'll find that it doesn't have a "washer" a such  but  two ceramic discs and some o rings + some plastic  bits,  if the plastic or  ceramic  bits are broken  you can all but write it off.

o rings it's possible to find replacements.

I will replace the whole thing with a stainless steel item, I guess in CM homepro, thai watsadu, global all pretty much the same for the variety and price?

Homedepotlowes?  Is that in CM?

Mr. DIY, is that a specific shop / shops?

sometimes, and in similar case; it is not always the Tap nor the 'washer' assembly that is at fault!

I dissassembled mine, but whilst doing, I noted that the unit was simply undoing itself!

- the actual cause was that certain ummm unnamed individual who I am not allowed to fault;

was force-swivelling the entire tap/spout assembly away from centre...

 - it is even in the instructions not do do that - as it is known to loosen the integrity of the internal seals of the unit.
