About 100 undocumented Myanmar migrants were rounded up in Tak’s Mae Sot district on Thursday morning.

In a joint operation to crack down on migrants who illegally crossed into the northern province, police, troops, and officials from the district office and Labour Ministry checked areas where Myanmar workers stay in the Mae Sot district.

The operation was jointly carried out by police from the Tak Immigration Office and Mae Sot police station, troops from the 14th Infantry Regiment, and officials from the Mae Sot district office and from the Tak Employment Office.

The officials called Myanmar migrants out from their rented rooms and checked their travel documents. A team of officials also checked documents of workers at the Pa Daeng mining company in Ban Mae Dao Mai village in Tambon Mae Dao.

The officials found that some 100 Myanmar workers had no travel documents. They were taken for questioning to the Tak Immigration Office pending deportation.
