P Funk
Seriously, why all the jumping... must be terrifying on the way down plus it is traumatic to the witnesses. Why not just OD. I often think that the method in Soylent Green would be best... surround yourself with positive images and music of your choice, then sleep...... webfact
Foreigner jumps to death in Pattaya department store By The Nation A foreigner jumped to his death from the sixth floor of a shopping complex in Chon Buri’s Pattaya City on Thursday afternoon. The man, whose nationality is unknown, was rushed to a nearby hospital though he was declared dead at the scene. Pol Lt-Colonel Pitak Nernsang, an investigator from the Pattaya Police Station, said police learned at 5.30pm that a foreigner aged about 50 had fallen from the sixth floor of Central Pattaya Beach Department store. The body was covered with a white sheet by the time the police arrived, and initial investigation found that the man’s arms, legs and neck were broken and the skull was fractured. There were no documents on his person for identification, Pitak said. A vendor near the site on the sixth floor said she noticed a foreigner trying to climb over the barrier, but had let go by the time she got to him. The body has been sent to a nearby hospital for an autopsy. wisperone
Pretty sad that someone has issues so bad they resort to this. Perhaps the charcoal method in private would have been a better choice if he had to do it. RIP

Tropposurfer
To those who are trying to make sense of this sad horrific thing. completing suicide seems rational to the person doing it, and is the best alternative as they see it. the comments about why in a mall why this why that are perhaps a waste of time n focus. the overwhelming experience a person has that they see as motivation to kill themselves are myriad. Interstellar levels of self-loathing is nearly always a component of suicidal people whether they complete or not. in the case of serious and or terminal illness such loathing and self hatred usually excludes this thinking and associated emotions. if you are having despairing thoughts or notice a friend taking high risks or withdrawing or letting go of self care then ask them with intent are they feeling ok. its okay to talk about self harm thinking with and to others. talking about, broaching the subject with a despairing person does not encourage or initiate self harm episodes, quite the contrary???? men are far more likely to self harm then women. So go talk to your mates.

It's so easy to climb over the low barriers and none of the hassle of trying to get up to the roof. Also if it happens to be a spur of the moment decision you are hardly going to be standing on a roof are you? I've often looked over the sides of escalators on the way up and thought how easy it would be.
