PHUKET:-- Police have yet to make any progress in arresting a foreign man for stabbing a British national in Phuket earlier this month – with the victim and his girlfriend both not answering police calls or assisting the police in any other way, The Phuket News has been told.

More youngsters dying in road accidents

ROAD ACCIDENTS kill more than 17,000 children and teenagers in Thailand every year, the latest statistics show. And most of these fatalities involve motorcycles, Road Safety Policy Foundation’s manager Thanapong Jinwong said yesterday.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand does not manipulate the value of the baht currency in order to gain any competitive advantage for exporters, its central bank governor said on Thursday in response to speculation Thailand could be added to a U.S. watchlist.

OPCD submits report to World Bank research team

The Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) has submitted a report on Thailand’s growth in 10 stages to a research team from the World Bank. The information will be used for the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Report for next year.

New school term begins nationwide

(Reuters) - I.M. Pei, whose modern designs and high-profile projects made him one of the best-known and most prolific architects of the 20th century, has died, the New York Times reported on Thursday. He was 102.
