sceadugenga
Maybe do the rounds out at the airport, see what you can get on a weekly rate. https://carhirelocator.com/thairentacar/chiang-rai-airport-thailand

Chris and Dan
Rented a car this past December using this site: https://www.rentalcars.com/ Good rates, good service and they show rates for all the rental companies. Even changed rental dates without problem. However I would avoid Thai Rent Car company. Service was good (but little English spoken), but the car I got from them was badly in need of maintenance. You might also try: https://www.airportrentalcars.com/en-us/ They both display rentals worldwide. Just use CEI (Chiang Rai airport ) for the pickup location. Make sure that ANY scratch, dent, or mark is identified on the rental papers before you accept the car. Upon return all the rental car companies will try to charge you for any mark, no matter how small.

I've always used Chic Car Rent and not experienced that. Yes they inspect the car but if you have Super Collision damage waiver with zero excess, there is never anything to pay (except for usual exclusions like tyres). However for long term rental there would be much cheaper options I'd imagine.
