Do they not test the water here, how can they just lift a ban? 

You need to buy your own tester if you want to take your chances on the beach . $24.95 from Amazon.

It takes 24 hours to culture bacteria samples for ecoli and coliforms. If they only took the samples yesterday, they can't have the results back yet?   ahh, this is an old article so I withdraw my comment. Well done chaps.

Last swam at Pattaya beach around 1991/2 almost 30 years ago . Raw sewerage floating everywhere.
You wonder how many tourists return home and  fall ill with eye,ear , skin and throat infections.
I wouldn't swim anywhere in the Gulf.
