The lady at the center of the drama that played out on Thai social media is Dr Mon otherwise known as 34 year old Waree Limrungsukho who has a veterinary clinic in Chim Plee Soi 6/1 in Taling Chan. She said that on Sunday at 7 pm someone she knew came rushing into the clinic as she was treating a dog. She left the pooch and went to a construction site behind her clinic where locals had helped deliver a baby girl. But the child was not breathing and not crying. She used her finger to try and clear her airways. The child had no vital signs. She asked permission of the mother - a lady from Myanmar - and took the baby back to the clinic massaging her heart as she ran. There on the vet's operating table she used a device to help clear the mouth and nose and detected vital signs for the first time as medics arrived and took the child to Sirirat Hospital. Dr Mon said she is not a hero - the heroes are the ones who helped deliver the baby and who thought to alert her and get help at the clinic. She was very happy to hear that the baby is now fine. She said her phone had not stopped ringing with requests for interviews from the media. Father Mong Sor - also from Myanmar - said his wife suddenly went into labor after only 7 months of pregnancy taking everyone by surprise. He has decided to name the baby "Nong Neung" - as the child was born outside house number one. He thanked Dr Mon for her help and all the other Thais who had helped too. He said he had yet to see his daughter's face - he was not legally married to the mother and was waiting until they came out of hospital to see Neung for the first time. ezzra Posted May 21, 2019 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Have we become so selfish and self absorbed that every kind action someone dose becomes to be a 'hero'? are we so bad that a simple act of humanity immediately is hailed as a heroism act? what happen to just going thing because it's need to be done and now, without thinking what's in it for me?... MaxLee Posted May 21, 2019 Share Posted May 21, 2019 It's sad that the majority of cheap laborers from the neighboring countries are treated like animals, while their Thai bosses and their henchmen supervisors are just sitting there doing nothing in a situation like this. Did you even read the article ? It says of the babies father - "He thanked Dr Mon for her help and all the other Thais who had helped too. " Jesus... Well I think she did a pretty good thing and I think what you appear to allege was far from her thoughts at the time. More of a hero than some overpaid football players or so called national treasures in some countries. Be sure to refuse emergency aid if you ever need it...... A very noble and humble thing to say... however her skills & quick actions probably went a long way to saving the babies life or in the least prevented complications setting in..
