CCTV showed what happened when a pick-up collided with a motorcycle then a tour bus late Monday morning in Phang Nga in southern Thailand.

Footage from kamnan Pongwat Bunkoi of Bang Toei sub-district showed a pick-up cross over the central reservation at a bend at high speed.

The Isuzu then slammed into a motorcycle before colliding with the tour bus.

Four people died and 12 were injured.

The pick up had 12 people in it and is thought to have suffered a burst tire.

Sanook said the bend is an accident black spot.

Dead at the scene was Nikorn, 42.

There were 13 Chinese tourists on the Mercedes - Benz bus along with three drivers. They only suffered minor injuries.

Dead later were Saijai, 25, Je-Ar, 57 and Mae, 51.

The last two of these victims were on the motorcycle.

Police said it looks like a tire blowout with the driver losing control at high speed.

Just 4 of the standard 30 deaths a day for Thailand. Totally preventable by driving with due care and attention at a reasonable speed with tyres in working condition that have not been excessively over-inflated.

Two innocent victims on the motorbike.

Very sad.

Can't count how many flying pickup videos I have seen over the years.

Just imagine driving on a divided highway.

All clear in your direction and then such a flying bomb comes your way.

My wife says I shouldn't watch to many such videos.

More than double 30.

I see plenty of under inflated ones too; not to mention the bald tyres on Buses and Trucks.

that's simply untrue!

What happens when a pick-up collides with a bus is: they magically get a lottery number guaranteed to win.

That's why there are so many collisions...

Terrible how Thai's don't stop to help when there is an accident. That black car just narrowly escaped but didn't bother to stop to offer help. Not very Buddhist like.

Problem is in Thailand if you stop to help you will often be "implicated" in the accident with demands for compensation.  Therefore people tend to keep moving, sad but a fact of living in Thailand.  It is getting better though, especially amongst the younger Thais.  Having everything filmed does have a positive side sometimes.

it looks like a tyre blow, according to Police.

Surely anyone with a brain could see if the tyre had actually burst.!!!!

Thai police are not renowned to have much of a brain, only a memory that repeats what those with the biggest brown envelope tells them to.

..if they're so frightened of death/injury they should never be given a licence..seems like selfishness and stuff your fellow man kicks in every time...PS. the pickup remained at the same level as the road surface throughout the video and most probably burst a tyre on impact with the bus...RIP those poor folk.

Flat tire..sure.

He was driving to fast in the curve and lost control over the vehicle. No excuses.

12 people in the pick-up with a suicide jockey... god knows what happened when they hit must have all flown out like skittles in an alley?

As for the pair sitting innocently on their motorcycle and BANG.. you're gone!!

Such speed from the pick-up, even after crossing the central reservation it collided at the side of the road hitting the motorcycle, ricochet off that into the tour bus and still managed to move that a few feet.

Another fine example of Thai driving.

Even with a tire blow out all I see is very very poor driving skills. Skilled drivers are a rarity here but soon could be happening in the USA with all the new rules off everything is illegal now too. In my day we would take cars and do burn outs, dough nuts, go off road spinning them sideways and fun things which helps the skill level. Now, maybe not.
