webfact Posted May 23, 2019 Share Posted May 23, 2019 Video: French man arrested for stealing smartphone in Pattaya Picture: Pattaya News CCTV from a phone shop in the Tukcom computer center in Pattaya showed a foreign man grab a smartphone from a stand and run yesterday evening. The theft set off an alarm and in seconds staff were chasing the man who was wearing a black t-shirt with an anchor and a hat. A citizens' arrest was made nearby the South Pattaya store and Pol Capt Janephop Wanthongsang soon had the thief in custody at Pattaya police station. He was named as 40 year old French national Laurent Meriem. The Huawei P30 Pro worth 31,900 baht was recovered. The suspect has been charged with theft during the hours of darkness and illegal entry into Thailand.
