A large contingent of police, military men, City Hall officials and the local Department of Land Transport hot footed it to the port of Bali Hai in South Pattaya yesterday.

They had been called in after numerous complaints about illegal minivans operating on the wrong routes and some services operating outside the law altogether.

They found precisely nothing.

Even one operator - Tawan Ork Tour - was found to be totally legal.

But the raiding party promised to be back on another day.

The story on the Sophon TV site on Facebook was met with total derision by Thai posters.

I just guess there was a leak somewhere, that played that info to the right channels, so that everybody knew this raid was coming. As usual.

Reminds of Paveena Hongsakul when she worked for the Prime Minister's office nearly twenty years ago. She was sent to check the bar business in Pattaya.

She came in the GoGo bar I ran, scaring all the customers - due to the six policemen who turned up with her.

She reported back to Bangkok and was quoted in the press (I remember this word-for-word), "I saw no evidence of prostitution in Pattaya."

:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Now, that is news worthy. First for everything, I guess. Love the way it's worded as if it's a totally unexpected result.

They must have found something, otherwise I wouldn't be reading the "Totally legal" bullshit! I  So, what happened to the operators that weren't totally legal!

It appears it's OK to operate if it's only a little bit illegal!
