bristolboy
I've got a marriage visa with a work permit. If I want to extend my marriage visa, does the work permit have to be valid for the full year of the visa? Or can I extend the work visa separately? ubonjoe
If you apply for a extension of stay based upon marriage it is not tied to your job or work permit being valid. You can use the income from working to meet the 40k baht income requirement by showing 2 or 3 months of income proved by tax payment receipts. bristolboy
Thanks for replying so quickly. I do appreciate it. One further question: is there some kind of penalty imposed if I haven't extended my work permit? My taxes are paid and reported by my employer to the appropriate authorities. If you don't extend your work permit you cannot legally work anymore. No penalty other than that.
