Deputy Bangkok governor Thaweesak Lertpraphan chaired a meeting to decide how the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority were to take part in the WHO's "World No Tobacco Day 2019" tomorrow.

They decided on smoke free zones in many areas of the capital to pressure people to quit smoking and not take up the habit, reported Naew Na. These were called "model areas" in The Thai media.

The Thai campaign was given the title "Tobacco.burns.your.lungs".

Among the areas are bus stations such as Chatuchak, JJ 2 market and whole areas such as Bang Rak, Don Meuang, Taling Chan, Silom, Minburi and the Victory Monument.

Six schools will also be joining in with the city wide campaign.

... just light up (no need for tobacco at all) ...

I can see it now, all those 10 or 11 year olds getting jittery in class as they start gasping for a fag... Or maybe I'm reading that wrong?
