Poison mushroom alert in Tak after three Myanmar migrants die

By The Nation

Local residents in the northern province of Tak have been warned to avoid poisonous wild mushrooms after three Myanmar workers died after eating them.

On Friday, Mae Sot Hospital director Somyos Krinthathan led hospital officials to alert the public about the danger of consuming wild mushrooms.

Somyos said a lot of wild mushrooms had grown after the rainy season started.

He said three Myanmar workers collected and ate a type of wild mushroom that looked like eggs in Ban Thongchai village in Tambon Dan Mae Lamao recently and died.

Somyos and hospital officials have handed out pamphlets in Thai and Myanmar languages to advise them of the danger.

Somyos said people needed to be made aware of the danger urgently to prevent more deaths.

Yes, obviously I'm using it, hence I could red the article. And the best description the author could come up with was:

Missus is out with her "gang of girls" as i type.

Well no, prolly finished by now and on the box of Chang.

But each morning this week, regardless of pissing it down or not, dressed in her disco clothes (wellies, lumberjack shirt, t -shirt over the head etc) she's out there first light of day.

Still got bags of mushrooms in the freezer from last year...

'Tis mushroom picking season !!!

There are some nasty mushrooms about i remember in my youth a group of us going to Wales to pick mushrooms many moons ago.

My car used to change shape if you ate the wrong ones.

Yes but in my day mushrooms in Wales were just "magic"
